New Pathology Funding Agreement - 2011-2016

The Australian Government conducted a detailed review of funding arrangements for pathology services under the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS).  The review was completed and its outcome is a five year Pathology Funding Agreement between the Government and the pathology sector that commenced on 1 July 2011.

The Agreement is the culmination of the work of Pathology Review Consultation Committee (PRCC) and submissions to discussuion papers.  NCOPP participated in the review through these processes and is a signatory to the new Agreement along with the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA), the Australian Association of Pathology Practices (AAPP) and the Government.
